IBM Cuts 10% of Employees
in IGS/ITS Division (including Customer Engineers)

"I
asked if we were going to have to endure this every quarter and was told
that the latest cut was deep and it's hoped that another won't be necessary
for "a while". I absolutely hate the notification procedure.
This is the second time it was done this way:
1) get a mid-day email saying be on a 10-minute 9am central conference
call the following day
2) call the conference # at 7am pacific to hear a manager briefly talk
about the resource action and that everyone will be contacted
individually by their manager asap. There was no other dialog.
3) wait for the call to find out whether or not I still had a job."
