Let IBM know that Career IBMers should have rights back to their jobs!

Send this letter to Sam Palmisano now!

Sam Palmisano, President, IBM Corp.
New Orchard Road, Armonk, NY 10504

To: Sam@us.ibm.com

Dear Mr. Palmisano,

We are saddened by the recent cutbacks at IBM, in which over 1,200 career IBM employees lost their jobs.

We are also dismayed over the fact that these employees have no rights to return to their jobs when the economy picks up and IBM needs to ramp production up to previous levels -- which is expected to happen, by IBM management's prediction, in the second half of 2002.

We ask that IBM management give the terminated employees a right to be recalled to their jobs. When business increases, they must be given the choice to be brought back with their previous wages and benefits intact, before new temporary employees or contractors are hired to fill job openings.

We believe that returning these employees to work will enable IBM to respond very quickly to increased business. Their experience will enable production to ramp up immediately, without the need for a training and learning curve. Their devotion to quality would also outshine that of any new temp employee, especially in light of IBM's decision to bring them back to work.

Sincerely,
